Who can join boondockers welcome

Any and everyone with a self-contained RV. So in plain English, you need a functioning bathroom and kitchen. You can't knock on your host's door to scramble eggs in their kitchen. You also can not sneak behind the great oak in the backyard to use the bathroom.

Who owns the property

Registered Boondockers Welcome hosts own the property. They are typically RVers who want to stay connected to the community. The hosts open up their property to let you pull up and park for a few days while you rest from the road or explore the local area.

finding community with boondockers welcome

Thanks to Boondockers Welcome, we have created many lifelong friendships! One of those friends is Barry, a Boondockers Welcome host from Florida. We met him in 2020 when we stayed on his property for four nights. Barry is so friendly, and he loves hosting and meeting new people. He is even considered a super host! Most evenings, Barry sits around a campfire, getting to know his guests. We never miss a chance to pop in to say hello to Barry. You may have even seen him in a few of our videos!

We met Kyle and Renee from Happily Ever Hanks at a Boondockers Welcome in Florida. They pulled in and parked beside us, and after a few evenings around a campfire, they are now great friends! They are sweet people, so it was easy to become fast friends!

Rick and Linda are another kind, camping couple we met thanks to Boondockers Welcome. We hit it off right away. They even volunteered with us at a Year to Volunteer project at the Florida Caverns. We enjoyed getting to know Rick and Linda and can’t wait to meet up with them again.

Every Boondockers welcome host is kind and generous. Opening up their property for others proves it. But they may not be able to hang out with every guest. Remember, hosts may have jobs or other obligations they must attend to.

Nervous about boondocking?

Boondockers Welcome Amentities

You might be surprised to know over 75% of Boondockers Welcome hosts have some sort of RV hookup. Some hosts allow generators if needed. Before you make your reservation you will see if hookups are available and if generators are permitted. The picture on the right is an example of a hosts description.

How long can I stay

You can stay a maximum of 5 days at a Boondockers Welcome location within a 90-day period. The host determines the length of stay within those parameters. It could be one night or the entire 5 nights.

Gifts for hosts

We are frequently asked if we give our hosts gifts to say thank you. Yes, we have given gifts such as a bottle of wine or a small gift basket. We also pay for any water or electric we use.

Cost

I am sure by now you are wondering what this will cost you?? Boondockers Welcome is the cost of 2-3 nights at a campground. It's only $79 per year. As you can see, it will quickly pay for itself!
