We have been enjoying the benefits of Harvest Hosts since we hit the road almost four years ago. Every overnight is a unique experience. One of my favorite things about Harvest Hosts is all the Mom & Pops that are listed. It is an easy way to support these small businesses that otherwise we would drive right by.

Many of our overnights with Harvest Hosts are breweries and wineries. But did you know about 50% of Harvest Hosts have nothing to do with alcohol?? There are farms, amusement parks, museums, golf courses, and more. So I thought I would share some of our favorite Harvest Hosts that did not include booze!

Are you wondering what is Harvest Hosts?? It is a membership program that allows you to overnight a businesses. At the time of this writing they have over 3100 locations across the country. It will pay for itself after just a few overnights.

Excellent alcohol-free Harvest Hosts

Gulf Coast Gator Ranch, Louisiana

The Gator Ranch is where we took our very first airboat ride. It was so much fun. We flew through the water while watching alligators float by and relax in the grass. It made for a very exhilarating day!

The Gator Ranch begins at minute 11.

Airway Fun Center, Michigan

Do you want to act like a kid again? This is the place to go. We ran around and played games the entire day! Our goal was to do every activity in the Fun Center and we accomplished that mission with our friends Al and Angie! We raced go-carts, went bowling, played virtual reality games for the first time, and more. I don’t think I laughed so much in one day! Oh, by the way, this Harvest Host had electric hookups too!

Colorado Valley Hemp Farm, Colorado

This sweet little farm is parked below Mt Garfield and has the most beautiful views. It was so peaceful and quiet. It is also nestled between two small colorado towns that we enjoyed exploring. While you are there, you can climb Mt Garfield, hike McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, or stroll through the cities of Grand Junction and Palisade.

Alpaca Farm, Maine

I have to say this was one of our favorite experiences at a Harvest Host. Our host, Red, told us he had an alpaca ready to give birth. The following day, Red knocked on our doors to let us know that she was in labor. We threw on our shoes and watched this beautiful creature deliver her baby. It was so magical. We were so lucky to be there at that moment!

Alpaca Farm begins at 6:42

Mt Washington Cog Railway, New Hampshire

Go back in time as you travel up the side of Mt Washington by train. The cog railway has been taking people to the summit since 1868. We parked our RVs at the mountain base and woke to a beautiful sunrise. During our trip up the mountain, the engineer gave us the history of Mt Washington and the railway. And of course, the views at the summit were stunning!
